Life simulation games have come a long way. Sims 4 is a popular game that lets you create and control characters, called Sims in a virtual world. You can use the Create-a-sim (CAS) mode to customize your Sims’ traits and appearances.
But once you put them in the world, you only have the option to change their outfits. That is where the Sims 4 full edit mode in the CAS comes in.
How to Enable Cheats in Sims 4 on Each Platform: Sims 4 Full Edit Mode
When you shift-click on a Sim there is an option to “Modify in CAS”. But in this version of CAS, you can’t adjust her features, only her clothing.
By enabling CAS edit mode cheats you can get full control over your Sims’ traits. Here is how to get full edit mode on Sim 4:
PC (Windows)
1. To enable cheats, open the cheat box by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl + Shift + C buttons on the keyboard.
2. Go to the top left where a white box will appear and click on it. Enter the code “testingcheats on” or “testingcheats true” to enable cheats.
3. It will notify you by saying “Cheats are enabled”.
4. Once you get the confirmation message that the cheats are on, type in “cas.fulleditmode” and hit enter.
5. Go back to the CAS mode by clicking on a sim and you should be able to edit their traits and aspirations.
Mac
PC and Mac have slightly different keyboard layouts but the process is similar.
1. Instead of pressing Ctrl + Shift + C, in Mac you have to press Command + Shift + C in that order.
2. The rest is pretty much the same. Type in “testingcheats true” and then follow it up with “cas.fulleditmode” and hit “Return”.
Full Edit Mode – Console (Xbox & Playstation)
Consoles are a bit different since you do not have a keyboard and the main input is a controller.
1. On the controller, press all four triggers together. That means the L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 triggers at the same time. This will bring up the cheat box on consoles.
2. Press X to bring up your keyboard and type in “testingcheats true” and “cas.fulleditmode” then enter.
3. Press the four triggers together again to close the cheat bar. Press the X and O buttons while you have a cursor hovering over a sim and get to the “Modify in CAS” to change their attributes.

You can give the NPCs a makeover by enabling cheats, and control their personality, traits, and behavior towards your Sims.
Why is the cas.fulleditmode cheat not working?
You have to enter it into the command line window before going into CAS. It does not work if you enter it while you are in CAS.
